Results of Tests and Investigations
Our policy at Ivry Street is such that our reception team will not provide test results via telephone.
Having been reviewed by our GP partners and senior clinical team, it was determined that non clinical staff should not provide such results.
This decision was made due to the many variables that can exist within a result, that could promote clinical questions which our reception team are not qualified to answer. We believe this would cause further anxiety to patients, even when there are no concerns with a result.

Our policy is such that once test results have been clinically reviewed there could be 3 outcomes;
- No abnormalities – patient does not need to be contacted. If your result is normal and needs no follow up, you will not be contacted.
- Minor abnormality – our reception team will be asked to make an appointment to see a clinician to discuss results on a routine basis – a GP will have assessed that there is no urgent clinical need. Please be advised that routine appointments can be up to 3 weeks in advance. In some cases, you may receive a message from our admin team to advise that you have been asked to contact us to book a routine appointment. The same timeframe applies, in that a routine appointment can be up to 3 weeks in advance.
- Serious abnormality – one of our clinicians will contact the patient directly to discuss, or, on occasion may ask our reception team to make an urgent appointment for the patient.
